We use a Black Magic Graphite/e-glass composite blank with a very fast taper. You still get the soft tip for sensitivity but it quickly stiffens up to a powerful rod with a lot of backbone for pulling in a big fish. We use Silicon Carbide heavy duty guides with Stuart black and silver aluminum reel seats on our tough E-glass blanks. These rods are extremely durable and simply do not break. All of our guides are under wrapped with Pink thread so the guides never touch the blank and then double wrapped with silver thread to ensure maximum strength.
